I took my mum to Lakeside in Essex the other day and thinking I would find someplace better for food than the appalling offerings at the food court in the shooping centre (all fast food rubbish), we went to TGI Fridays.
Having never been there before we were hopeful.
After a look at the menu however, we soon left. It was GROSSLY overpriced rubbish and completely at odds with Moneysaving.
Even 2 meals for the price of one is too much.
Maybe it was the location and it's cheaper elsewhere?0

PS - Thanks for the link for the offer.0

I have to disagreee with Deleted_User because for us it is a treat. We would visit TGI's if we were in town. Not that cheap but good food and good value/service/atmosphere.
2 for 1 means, hopefully, the bill is half it usually is but we enjoy the atmosphere and the food, good portions etc.
Try it, you might actually like it. Don't compare it to the standards of McDonalds or other fast foods. This is an experience to enjoy, so enjoy.......

You'll be lucky! This offer entitles you only to one free main course if you buy one at the full price. All other food, drinks, etc, will be charged at full price.hss wrote:2 for 1 means, hopefully, the bill is half it usually is but we enjoy the atmosphere and the food, good portions etc.
My experience with TGI has been that they are deliberately slow in serving the food so that you will buy more and more drinks at grossly inflated prices.
I could not recommend them, even with the "BOGOF" main course offer.0

Wow, my post got a mention on Martin's e-mail!!! Fame at last. Anyway, what we do is print 2 vouchers, order 4 meals and 4 soft drinks which are free refills and we order 1 of those deserts which is 3 small deserts to share. This makes the bill under £25 for 4 of us - the kids love it. Enjoy!0

Thanks for the tip! Treated the fiancee last night and was absolutely stuffed by the time we got home!
TJI's - NOT cheap at all! But portion sizes are more than adequate. I eat in restaurants much more expensive all the time (expenses thankfully!) without batting an eye lid but the prices in TJI did startle me, perhaps its a perception thing with it being a Whitbread chain etc....
Off to use my Loch Fyne voucher tonight now!!!! (expect the end bill to be cheaper than the TJI one too! with a dam site more class!)0

it is expensive but it tastes good and why try to get you to buy more drinks when you get free refils with the soft drinks0

Went to TGI Friday's the other week for the first time for ages, nothing has changed...poor quality food, really expensive drinks. They say that football is a religion, if this is true I worship at the Exacta Stadium, Chester0
