I just want to say, growing up my family never went on holidays, we hardly ever got christmas presents, etc. but I still have amazing memories, which mainly consists of every-day things like sitting down for a homecooked meal, playing with water in the backyard, going to the park, reading books, doing crafts with recycled things on rainy days...

I think the best things are those you don't necessarily have to spend much money on. And it makes you truly appreciate those other more expensive treats.

I have no children, though I've been broody for years. I just can't imagine how hard it must be, so just the fact you sat down to budget is amazing! Keep it up and take one day at a time :)

Hey charleybabes, how are you getting on? Hope all the positive comments made you feel much better and realising that you will be able to do it and have fun doing it.
  • Hi charleybabes  We have an older thread with budgeting advice following the birth of a baby. It has loads of good tips, so I'll add this thread to it ;)
