Free Late Night 'One' Rail Travel Personal Safety Escort

Options
This service is available at many of the stations between Norwich and London Liverpool Street for anyone feeling unsure of the area when returning to their vehicle in a NCP rail car park.

In addition to the car walk a free deicing service is available by placing a request card under your windscreen wiper indicating the train you are likely to return on and your registration plate number.

The customer service adviser performing these duties will also assist with carrying luggage over railway bridges if you need a break from hauling your over packed suitcase cross country.

At the moment they are also handing out bright canary yellow umbrellas to those who have forgotten a brolly during down pours.

They have a list of local taxi contacts and I have seen on a couple of occasions taxis being called and booked for people.

The service runs from early evening evening until Midnight, though later arrivals can be pre-booked up until the last service

While many commuters have too much to feist to allow a dark night deter them or stubborn people feel the urge to carry on like buckaroo loaded up with bags, I think it's a case of if you don't use it you lose it.

The customer service reps are easy to spot in flourescent jackets bearing NCP on the back.

Booking telephone numbers below or just look out for them on the platforms.

    Wow, thats really quite good!

I wonder what they'd say if big strapping me walked up to one of them and asked them to carry my bag though?! Bet it'd get a laugh!
  • They're there to help, but largely get ignored from what I've seen...

I guess the presence is felt if nothing else.
  • How strange.

I first read that it was a free deciding service.

Not sure I'd advertise what time I was returning to the car or how long I was going to be away from it by putting a card on the screen myself but I guess thats what you do in pay and display parks anyway so...

They both mean the same thing, the hyphen is optional.

First Great Western PLEASE take note!
The umbrellas alone would be wonderful, the rest of the services almost too much to even dream of.

I hope it is so well used and appreciated that it becomes a permanent feature!

Nonsense. deicer would be pronounced "dicer". Or do you say "nee-ither" for neither, and "ee-ither" for either.

what a good idea , put a card under your wiperblade telling everyone what time tou will be back, give them plenty of time to rob your car
