Pre Pay CC's

in Credit cards
Hi,
I have a mountain of debt (see my sig), but I am in control, thanks to CCCS. My question is about pre-pay cards.
Virgin offer one, they also offer a normal CC (which I wouldn't/couldn't get).
My question is, if I signed up for a Virgin pre-pay card and 3-4 years decided to get a Virgin CC, would they look at my pre-pay history, or does my application only depend on my credit score?
As I mentioned, I am not in the position to get a credit card, but Virgin were the only company I could think of off the top of my head offering pre-pay and standard cards.

In 3 - 4 years half your credit history is still likely to be on your credit record.
I very much doubt they'd take your PAYG VISA/Mastercard card history in to consideration as they don't exactly do a credit check so upon applying for a credit card they'd perform a credit check and possibly see paragraph one (upto 6 years credit history).
You'd be better of getting a basic bank account from NatWest/Yorkshire Bank ...etc and using that fee free with a good chance of a full upgrade to a full current account after x amount of months good usage.
I see no point in going back down the credit card path and get directed to the debit card < saving path
Hope this helpsProudly Banking & Saving With:

I have a basic account with Natwest, with a solo card :j.
The reason I wanted a credit card is for on-line transactions - better protection for the big things that I might have to buy.Debts at the start of my journey - about £23,000 lightbulb moment 01.03.2007 (1st payment to CCCS)..Debt Free Date 25.06.2013 Deposit savings £17,000/£30,0000 -

The prepay credit cards aren't, technically, credit cards. I wouldn't be certain that they offer the same protection as real credit cards.
After all you are not being given credit.0 -
They wouldn't write your PAYG VISA/Mastercard usage to credit reference agency either where-as a current account/debit card quite possible would.
This helps repair any CRA history faster plus it's fee freeProudly Banking & Saving With:
