Advice on reheating and freezing meals

Right, you lovely experts on OS, I need a bit of clarification.

For example, if I do a meat or chicken casserole, or anything like that really, curry etc....then want to save some for next day or to freeze. Is this correct?

Either

1. Let it cool, then refrigerate, then can be heated up the next day ok?
2. Let it cool, then freeze it, and then when needed, defrost it then heat it up?

Are there any no no's when it comes to heating up food a second time?

Thank you. :D

    Good evening Lou

    another insomniac?

In answer to your question, you are correct on both counts. Only tip I would add is that you should cool stuff as quickly as possible before either refrigerating or freezing, so, for example, if I have made a casserole, I would take it out of the casserole dish and put it into another container to cool off a bit quicker.

In terms of reheating, I think it's OK to cook something then chill or freeze and reheat once, but wouldn't reheat a second time.

The only time i think it becomes a problem is if you have used already cooked meat EG cooked chicken from joint, that you then do say curry with, then it has to be eaten or if you reheat next day it then becomes 3x cooked .
well i think thats right someone tell me if its not
