Egg bank

I wonder if anyone can help. I had a 20k loan with Egg which defaulted in 2004 due to my partner leaving me, the loan was for him, stupid I know but you live and learn.

It basically ended up in a ccj secured against my property by a charging order, this was in 2005. Ive been paying £50 a month since, without fail.

I have equity in my property which I want to sell, buy another and use the equity to pay back this loan and also 2 credit cards which are in default again from 2005.

However to do this I need my creditors to accept reduced settlements. I wrote to the solicitors administering this and they wrote back the same day say my offer was not acceptable to their client however Im not convinced Egg have even seen my offer, there was not time. The cynic in me thinks it is in the best interest of the solicitor to keep this running for as long as possible as presumably egg pay them a handling charge. Is there anyway I can confirm that they are actually putting my offers to Egg? I owe 18k and am offering 10-12, (about 4 is court fees, late payment and interest.)

Please offer advice if you can, I really want 2008 to be the year I put all this behind me.

Thanks in advance
