My sister's dad is a mechanic and has just done a quick check over my car before i put it in for its MOT and it has 2 major fails already...
He said thats before he has been able to look at the engine etc. Already it would cost me £300. The car is only worth £400 if that!
Im gutted. I have only had it 6 months (only passed my test in October!), and now i have to get rid of it.
I have put a new battery in it (worth £70) and have 6 months tax on it so i should get some money back on it!
AND now i will have no car. On the upside, i will be saving £52 a month insurance, and £30 a month petrol! :rotfl: The DFW side coming out in me!

Could you take the battery out and sell it? Ditto the tires if they are in good nick.
Sorry to hear it's died though

I think my sister's dad is going to go through the car with me and take off bits he thinks can be sold. Battery is a deffo as it has a 4 year guarantee!

We sold our car to webuyanycar or something like that and I think someone on here used it too theres was a wreck but they gave them something like £200. Not sure if its of interest to you but sounds a lot less hassle!0

That was the site we used all we did was what it says on line then took it to our local carcraft, who inspected it knocked down a tiny bit but we came away with a fair price considering the work we knew it needed, money was paid in the bank a few days later.0 -

As someone who is very attached to her car, you have my sympathies. but good for you on looking at the positives and considering how much you will save without it.
Good for you again, for not considering getting into further debt to buy a newer car.

Thanks Maz. Its even more special cos the last 3 letters on the numberplate are "AME"... awwww...
I did briefly look at buying a car (i have seen nice ones for £3K) but then i looked at my debt and thought... hmmmm... that would take it up to nearly £14K... just silly!!
