Buy dollars for holiday now or wait?

Hi,

I hope someone will be able to help / offer advice.

We will be going on a family holiday to the USA in a few months time so I need to get some Dollars (mixture of cash and travellers cheques).

I wish I'd bought them back in November when the rate was well over 2 to the pound. Since then it's been in free fall and the current rate is about 1.85.

Has anyone got any advice as to whether they think the Dollar is going to continue getting stronger, in which case I should buy them now, or whether the Pound will rally again in the next couple of months, in which case I should wait.

If anybody could answer it, they would be very rich indeed!

You need to make your own choice on this I'm afraid, nobody knows what will happen to the FX market.

I disagree . Buy them on 4th August at 16.24 hours. Exactly at that time the interbank rate will hit 2.0642 USD to the £.
Buy them at Barclays in Woolwich.

har-har... I thought I would have had a reply from some one following currency trends who may have given some steer on the load up the cash card now or no need to panic etc etc. Sarcasm, lowest form of wit and all that. Gold star each.
