just been to Tesco as had some instore coupons to use.I went to the self service till and after I had put in the coupons was shocked when an assistant then came over and said "I am sorry but we have been told to check coupons that are put in!!!"(they all went through the till ok and were a mix of tesco ones that I had actually bought the items for and ones out of magazines that I had not.Once she looked at them that was it,she did not check I had bought the items....how odd ,any one else had this?
I did wonder if they were told to look for coupons you print yourself but as thoses never work for me I no longer try them:confused:
  • They used to have some great deals on flowers.

I think it was 2 years ago they had 12 roses for £9.99 and there was an active code before Valentines Day that could be used for £5.00 off, so a dozen roses for a fiver.

They closed it down a while ago and are now promoting postalbouquets (for which they receive a cut of sales).

Rosemary, this is due to the number of scammers abusing the SS check outs, and slipping through any old pieces of paper after scanning a coupon

today I had a nice experience at my local Tesco's.
I had been sent a £2-off voucher by the wineclub, and I thought I remembered it was for 2 bottles of wine. Chose two bottles, went to the check-out, handed over the voucher and it didn't scan because it was for a £14 spend, not two bottles (which totalled £9.50). I was given the voucher back.
When I was leaving the store I was thinking that I was only buying these bottles because I had the voucher, so thought I should do the sensible thing and bring the two bottles back. When I went to Customer Services and said that I wanted to return the bottles because I couldn't use the voucher, the lady said immediately "Show me the voucher, I'm sure we can do something..." She then scanned the voucher and gave me £2!
    Well done Tesco!

I bought 6 bottles of wine on Saturday and they scanned the £2 one (for 6 bottles) AND a £1.40 one (for a £14 spend) as well! I got the wine on a 3 for a tenner and then used £10 of other MOC's to make it £13.40 off £20 quids worth of wine - result.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat :D
