And thanks cat; I didn't know you could double dose; will phone chemist though :)

AA - Not all drugs are effective this way but a lot of antibiotics are ok (after a minor operation I had three doses of antibiotics at once - this was in the hospital and they just checked out the maximum single dose).

I hope your infection clears up!

doesn't matter Sar/jacs...........just feeling very 'head in the hands' ...........it's a combination of AQA (lack of, very quiet), jobs in the paper (lack of), car suddenly making a funny sound (guessing bearing, possibly) and real 'scraping the floor' feeling after yesterday's 'overly' up day........cheers anyway.........just feel like I want to cry.....

Well half-term may perk things up for AQA.

If your car is making a scraping noise when turning corners, it may just be brake pads required.

No, it is making the noise as I accelerate but not as I brake. It is kind of like if 2 circular discs were rubbing together going in different directions, that's the only way I can describe it.

    I still feel !!!!.

I did though just venture onto the Discussion Time board and found a really vile, hateful bunch of MSE'ers......I was quite shocked at some of the vitriol, in particular a comment by a user who said that her husband left her with the children and he moved out . The reply was well, you should have looked after him better then, the grass must have been greener.

Might be a daft idea, but have you got plenty of oil in the engine?

I would suggest taking it to a National Tyres / Kwikfit type place, and ask for a free brake check.

I think so, I'll ask OH when he gets here, although that won't be until 8pm or so. I only checked the air in them last night after thinking that might be the problem ast time and they were fine.

Next time you accelerate, put your brake on *very lightly* with your other foot. If the noise goes off, it's your brakes. It may be they're not coming back off the disc far enough, and some rust/muck/trapped granny is rubbing.

It's unlikely to be a bearing - bearings act the same no matter what speed you're doing.

Some people don't even deserve a good slap. Even a shoddy slap is too good for them

But then again if you did like having a big long thing down your throat, there'd be a sparkling career waiting for you in the adult film industry...
