Think this might be on one of the coupons boards already, but we don't always go over there, do we?!:D
Had a message from Ebay when I logged in this morning saying that there was a £5 discount off shipping when you use the discount code 'Cheers1'. There are loads of T&Cs attached though, so please check carefully!
Also, checking 'Cheers2' seems to give details of a £10 discount of any purchase.
See:

Incidentally, Ebay International last night reported an increase in profits of 53% over last year. Bless them.
Edit: I've just successfully used Cheers1 to get free P&P on a buy-it now, but I tried cheers2 first and it wouldn't accept it. If you want to try before you commit, do it on a buy-it-now that requires immediate payment, then you don't have to complete the transaction unless you want to.

Just trying to work out whether or not it's available to everyone or just those priveledged enough to get an invitation! If it is, then it's worth puttin £5 shiping on every item and listing free P&P via coupon. But if that doesn't work...!0

Don't suppose this is much help but I received an email this afternoon with the Cheers2 promotion code in it, and used it to claim a £10 discount off an item that only cost £10.50 in the first place. Very pleased!
I've forwarded the information to a few friends and will report back if it works for them (asked them to try the cod if they're buying something anyway)0 -
Don't do this!!
You're still liable for the purchase unless someone else buys it while the listing is running. When you Buy It Now the seller may be asking for immediate payment but you've still agreed to the 'legally binding contract' terms, and could still get a NPB warning.
When you click on 'commit to buy', the seller is charged fees - if you don't pay they are out of pocket - so expect them to be annoyed.....0 -

Hello again. One of my friends has got back to me, he tried the 'Cheers2' code when buying an ebay item with paypal yesterday and it failed - so it only seems to work if you actually received the email from ebay personally.0 -

No, you definitely don't have to go through with a purchase requiring immediate payment if you don't actually pay for it - on an item requiring immediate payment, you never actually click on 'Commit to buy' like you do on a normal transaction. I've just tried it again to make double sure, and it's absolutely fine. I've also added the 'immediate payment' option to one of my own listings and tried to buy it from DH's ebay - it doesn't show as sold at all unless payment is made through Paypal. I used that method myself on a couple of items to try out the Cheers1 and Cheers2 codes, and they never appeared on my 'Buying' page as I didn't complete the transaction and therefore never bought them. Seller only gets fees charges for transactions that Ebay deem to be completed, and these are not completed until payment is made.
If you want to try it, see item number 320214071520 just to reassure yourself. You can 'buy' that one but as long as you don't pay for it, it remains for sale and won't appear on either buyers bought or sellers sold pages.0 -

That's a shame! I got the Cheers1 twice (never by email, just on the message page you sometimes see when you log in), so I wonder if I can use it again? Nothing I really need at the moment though. Maybe I can list an item for 1p with £5 postage, and buy it from myself...that way I get the fiver!!!:rotfl:0 -
i got cheers1 in an email and on my login page at it worked :j only for postage though. £2.99 saved on p&p though :j0
