Accomodation for Wedding Abroad

Hello,

My partner and I plan to get married in Rome in April 2009. We would like to go over this year to check things out. I have been looking at flights and hotels which all seem to be quite expensive, have shared facilities or are miles outside. Have looked on usual site: last minute, opodo, laterooms, expedia, booking.com and all alot of money. Also tried tourist info site but they use booking.com so not any better.:(

Does anyone have any suggestions as to a site that gives good bargains or about somewhere nice, quite central and reasonably priced in Rome?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I went a few years back and used Venere (I don't seem to be able to get the link working for this one, but stick it in google and you'll find them!) and got some really cheap deals on B&B type places - I organised the rooms through them and flew using Ryan Air, which though the airport is a little way out of Rome is quite easy to get into the centre by bus/taxi.

You could try www.cheaphotels.co.uk as well.

If you get really stuck for flights, if you can get cheap flights to Pisa the train is really very quick and easy from there to Rome (and I seem to recall cost under £30 for two of us).
