Hi. I'm interested if anybody else is having problems with lost mail. I have just received my second credit card late payment fee of £12 since just before Xmas plus I was missing at least four Xmas cards from friends.
How about you?
Regards. JG.

Set up a DD to pay the minimum each month, then when you get the statement pay any extra you want to pay. That way you never get hit with a late payment charge.
IMO the royal mail does a good job, the guys in my town are great. I do know other areas are not so lucky.0 -

Nope ... if it's properly addressed and properly stamped ... gets to me with no problem. Only card that was a bit delayed, this year, had a postcode for several counties away .. and bore no relationship to my own code. As the basic address was also truncated - they did remarkably well to get it to me at the height of the Christmas mail.
Get an excellent service both from the local Royal Mail and their parcels side. If the cars on the drive and they need to get a signature .. and I don't answer the bell - they come round the back of the house to find me!If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
nothing to add to the debate, except to say
Carlsberg dont do thread titles, but if they did.....0 -

Wont don't you pay your credit card bills online then you can see the bill and pay what you want without involving Royal Mail. Our post is fine (nothing to do with the fact that my partner works for RM I'm sure). We did have one oddity this year - last week a Christmas card arrived from friends in Bristol, clearly postmarked 'Bristol 14 December' (The Post Office is the place you queue up at so I don't think they have much to do with your postal deliveries!)0 -

The postie that comes round is brilliant.
However - today I got a flyer from Virgin offering to connect me by Christmas :rolleyes:Always another chapter0 -
Over and above the normal bills, I regularly buy stuff on eBay and have had no problem with the Royal Mail. OTOH, don't get me started on private couriers.
The only recent instance of possible missing mail was the December statement for my Halifax One card. Fortunately, it is paid by DD, so wasn't a disaster*. Of course, I have no way of knowing if the error was with Halifax, the mail or me. However, I feel that my procedures for dealing with incoming mail are robust, as I only noticed it missing when filing away the January statement on the day it was delivered.
*PS. OP please note. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Do the posties do a good job? ours do (mostly). Does the PO offer a good service....deffo no....19th century opening times, need to join the 20th century, never mind the 21st! Try posting a parcel if you work!0
