Tesco Chilled Meals

Tesco are currently doing "buy 2 get £1 off" on most of their range of chilled meals (not 'Value' range),and, unusually for Tesco (they stopped multibuy reductions on reduced items a while ago), this reduction also works on applicable items that have been reduced. I bought a Healthy Living chicken & broccoli pie reduced from £1.62 to £1.13 and a Thai red veg. curry with rice reduced from £1.99 to £1.49, total paid for both was £1.62.

Would be even more of a bargain if they were reduced even more later in the day.

Egg fried rice was re reduced to 22p each so they paid me 52p to take them away this evening!!! Went back and got 4 more! What a bargain!

Do you think this is just a one off one these items as you are right the multi offers no longer work on reduced items???

I think because of the nature of the offer, ie "buy 2 get £1 off", and that the packs are stickered as such, they're obligated to give it whatever price they sell the items for.

It could well be the case for reduced BOGOFs too, I haven't tried them. I know that multibuys (2 for £x) don't deduct any extra if the £x is more than the reduced price for both.

I was just going to post about this, just been and got 2 lots of Basmati Rice from the chiller section and they came up at 10p each and then the till deducted £1.00 for buy 2 Ready meals so i have 2 lots of rice and 80p profit for taking them off the shelf, stacks of stuff was reduced so i got 4 bags full for about £1.50 as i had around £2.50 in coupons, dead chuffed , free tea again tonight !!

You can't always rely on getting Tesco's marked reduction when they reduce the item.
Somerfield's have taken to reducing, the buy two for £1.00 less reduction, on a percentage basis, so that if the item price is halved in the first reduction, the buy two reduction is also 50%, which is fairer than simply not applying it at all, as Tesco's here are doing.

AFAIK reduced BOGOFs in Tesco take the reduced price off, so ok if you want the product. Nice to know that some reduced multibuys work 'properly' still! ;)
