My Natwest step account wouldn't let me go overdrawn, it simply stopped any payments. I got an electron card with it and nothing else, no cheque book or credit card.
The maximum I went over was by £10 then it just stopped everything.Treat others as you would like to be treated :A0 -

Yeah - I realised my mistake after I typed it!! The only reason I went overdrawn by £10 was due to a charge they levied and I claimed back thanks to the guys on here and the consumer action group!!
Only problem with the step account is they try to sell you every other account first!!Treat others as you would like to be treated :A0 -
well HSBC seem to have a similar basic account too so will look into that also. thanks!0

I'm think I'm going to go with the natwest step account, the HSBC one has no unpaid DD charges but you don't get a debit card. I shouldn't have any unpaid bills anyways now so should be cool. thanks for help!0

Electron cards are accepted most places now, including online. I can usually just say it's a normal Visa card online and it works fine.0
