Balance Transer - doesn't make sense

Hi i've been accepted for a HSBC CC and they have sent the credit agreement for signing. They don't tell you at this point what you're credit limit will be but insist that you return the yellow sheet with information about what balances you would like to transfer now. How can you decide when you don't know what the limit will be?

As far as I'm concerned they never advise you of the credit limit until your card is issued. I have always just waited for the card then phoned up to transfer all the available limit.

I tried (but due to Halifax's, and then RBS's breathtaking incompetence failed) to open a new current account, for the £100 bribe to use their switching service. They sent a form to fill in my current current account and new current account details to transfer direct debits. At this point (and as it turned out, at any point), they hadn't issued an account number or sort code. No way was I going to sign a form with my bank details on and leave bits blank for anyone to fill in!
