Glasses bought from Sainsburys - Did anyone buy them?

Hi last year I purchased 8 tumbler and 8 wine glasses from Sainsburys. They were splayed at the top narrow at the bottom and had a hand made sticker on them. They had an etched criss cross pattern. Did anybody else buy these as four has cracked on me while washing and cut my fingers. Sainsburys deny they exist.
Thanks

Take a photograph of one of the remaining ones and send it with a complaint letter to their head office.
However, i don't think that you have much room for complaint as these things happen!!
More and more people these days are jumping onto the same bandwagon and complaining about things that were their own fault.
You would never have complained about something like this years ago, but nowadays, people seem to think it is their given right to try to blame others for their own mistakes.
If I were you, I would just be more careful with the remaining ones. When life throws you lemons...put them in a gin and tonic !!0 -
dear betterbargains4u, it would seem perhaps that the glasses bought from sainsburys came from a shop like yours as they are obviously flawed. over the period of the last year i bought 8 of each glass. to help you understand these glasses are handmade cut glass not the economy range. each one has broken in exactly the same way each time. to my mind this is a fault in the design of the glasses and very dangerous as we have found out to our cost. i have another 2 glasses at home that have gone the same way the previous ones i just threw away but as they all seem to break in the same way it made me think that there may be a flaw. i am very careful with all my things and do not buy cheap rubbish. i expect things to last as i am so careful. no bandwagon here i am afraid. the fight goes on.:T0

No need to be so touchy...or so rude!!!
The last time that I will offer any help to the likes of yourself.
Get yourself some professional advice, if you feel so hard done by and don't post your petty little problems on here.
:rolleyes:When life throws you lemons...put them in a gin and tonic !!0 -
I think the other poster's comments are uncalled for. If each glass ha broken in the same place it does seem to point to a fault in the design, which should be reported.
I didn't buy any of the glasses you mention but I does remember seeing some like this in Sainsbury's.
If I would you, I would write directly to C.S.Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0 -
Were they sold in boxes of 4? If so I bought 2 boxes of the wine glasses. I do not put them in the dishwasher as they appear rather delicate. Mine haven't cracked yet!0

Sort of unrelated but I have bought Tesco Value glasses before, a pack of 8 tumblers I think, something like that, and they all broke within a couple of months whilst washing up. As they were so cheap I was not too bothered, but I understand your annoyance.
Increasingly (take note betterbargains4u) people are getting shoddy products which do not last very well. Britain as a nation does not complain about poor quality products enough. If you are unhappy with something you have paid for then you have every right to complain.
The manufacturers and retailers will start to take notice the more complaints they get on poor quality products. Then maybe quality will start to improve...0 -

Please take note (RyandJ)......I did offer advice in my first post and having worked at Sainsburys for many years as a Manager, I know she will be taken seriously if she complains.
However, my point remains the same....no-one in this day and age seems to want to take responsibility for there own actions.
Everyone wants to sue some-one, complain to someone or generally pass the blame!!
My second post was in retaliation to a very rude comment she had made about me.
I do have the right to speak my mind.....as this is and always has been...an open forum!!!!When life throws you lemons...put them in a gin and tonic !!0 -

You do have the right to speak your mind, but you also have the right to be reported if you are considered to be rude. The OP wanted to make a point. She (as you seem to have assumed) is a "newbie", so we should welcome comments even if we feel they are not necessarily applicable.
Personally I feel that she had a point - possibly expressed in the wrong forum, but for you to be patronise her by saying she should be more careful and perhaps it is "user error" is out of line. If you dont have anything good to say, dont bother saying anything.
No doubt you're one of the moaning ones who will automatically put some negative response to this, but do yourself a favour and just answer posts sensibly or move on to the next post. Dont scare "newbies" off.0 -

And no doubt you are a busy body newbie, who feels the need to poke their noses in!!!!
If you don't have anything nice to say....shut up!!When life throws you lemons...put them in a gin and tonic !!0 -
