Can you feed chickens Barley that has gone through brewing process?

Can I ask please. My friend has just started a small brewery. He said that he has barley and wheat waste and wondered what to do with it as he would rather not just chuck it if there could be a use.

All that has happened to it he said is that it gets really hot pressurized water blasted through it, so it is soggy at the end and a lot of the sugars and starch have been extracted.

Could you feed this to chickens perhaps? I was not sure.

Any suggestions please?

I suppose if they've just "been boiled" it would not harm the chickens. Not sure how much good it would do them tho?

Might be a bit like boiling your turnips for a couple of hours for sunday lunch.

If you try it, at first give them small quantities in addition to their normal feed and not instead of it. Then gradually increase it and decrease their normal feed a little.

I guess the cattle can digest the cellulose left over from the mashing process.
