Free 3-Pce Oriental Knife Set (excl p&p)

There is a current offer in today's Independent for the 3 free knives for 2.89 P&P.

See below a complaint I sent to the Jean Patrique, GeoTrust and the ASA.

Dear Sirs,

I saw an advert (possibly in The Independent) today for a free knives offer with P&P of 2.89.

When I visited the website quoted in the advert I was directed to this page: http://www.jean-patrique-cookware.co.uk/free3/cardinfo.php to enter my card details.

This page is not secure despite displaying a GeoTrust logo and anybody entering their credit card details on this website is taking an enormous risk.

I telephoned the number on the website: 0871 784 3001, and was advised that I needed to call a different number: 0870 073 2723. When I called this number, as I no longer had the advert in front of me I was advised that I would have to place my order online. When I explained that the website was insecure the person checked with a supervisor and then told me that according to the T&C's on the site, the credit card details were secure. This is ABSOLUTELY NOT THE CASE!

Could somebody from Jean Patrique contact me to arrange to take the 2.89 P&P over the phone as there is no way anybody should be using your website to pay?

I think the bigger risk is they take your money and actually send you the knives by all accounts

hi my first post so forgive me if this is in the wrong place or old news. Just been browsing for a new set of cooking knives and found this site. www.jeanpatriqueoffers.co.uk 125 pounds worth free just £7.95 p+p. Did a brief search and found an ad company discussing this and the theory that you'll want to go back for more. Have ordered them so we'll see!

i bought 5 of these knive's years ago they are not bad but they do not stay sharp for long and the large knife had a small bend on the tip of the blade like the knive's had been dropped, could have been the royal mail.
the knive's are quite comfortable to handle worth the seven pounds that i paid.

I would not advise buying from Jean Patrique they are completely unprofessional, custoemr service is awful and uncaring. I ordered a 7 piece knife set shaprening utensils and knife block and didn't receive for over 3 months!

Absolutely ridiculous, when I contacted them they simply told me that they'd informed me already by post the reason for this. There is no valid reason that any company cannot fulfil an order for over 3 months!!

I hope this helps other potential victims!:mad:
