Is there a figure i can earn before declaring tax ??

Hi folks ... i'm not if this is right section so feel free to move MODS if necessary.

I am a full time carer for my wife & get the relative benefits. My benefit office has said we (my wife & i) can earn £20 (between us) before it affects our benefits. A family friend has offered me couple hours a week cleaning or gardening for £20 in pay... I just have to invoice him so he can put through his own books ... My question is do i have to declare £20 as an income or is it below any kind of threshold ??

You have a tax free allowance of £5225 in the current year, assuming you are under 65 and have no other taxable income. On £25 pw, you would not have to declare this income.
£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths
