Free certification tests from Brainbench!
Through January 31, over 30 Brainbench certification tests are available to you at no cost through sponsorships made by our partners!
The rest of the free tests are listed here:

I can fully recommend Brainbench certificates for those who are in need. They look really great, I have a few myself infact. They come in two brackets, standard and 'Master', the Master is achieved by scoring very well.
The certificates look like this: http://www.geocities.com/sesche/BrainBenchEsche.jpg
They are also very impressive in interviews. For those who could actually benefit from the tests offered, I would say go for it. They deliver to the UK within the parametres stated on their website.
Enjoy.
(While this could also be posted in the Freebies board, it is only lasting until the 31st and in my opinion, it really is a 'grab it while you can' deal)

Hiya NilesD,
This looks like a great offer to do, I could do with some free training and some expertise in certain areas, to help with my personal computer and lapplying for jobs.
But after clicking the link and having a look at the website, I could not find any UK information. Is this correct or am I looking in the wrong place ?
Just wondered how the training would work ?
Thanks.~~~~~~~~~~~~:kisses3: "In Raising Your Children;" :kisses3:"Spend Half As Much Money n Twice As Much Time."0 -
Unfortunately I don't think they offer training.
The offer here is just for the actual 'test', where you are awarded a certification on passing.
For example, they have a Microsoft Word test. The test would assume you are a dedicated user of it and don't need training, or if you do need training it tells you which areas you will be tested on so that you can look up the information and learn for yourself.0 -
I doubt anything sort of free certificate stands for anything on a CV
If I saw one with a certificate on from this place, I wouldnt think they were any more qualified.
Its an American Website- not UK, so i dont think it would give any strength to a job interview0 -

The certificate is not free, the test is. Thanks for reading.
Also, while the website is American, the test which they are testing on (things such as Word, Typing and Java to name but a few) are all universal. A typing test in the UK doesn't differ much from a typing test in the US.
And while these are possibly not recognised nationally as an accepted form of proof, they sure as hell don't hurt. Applying for a Customer Services position with a legitimate certification of your typing proficiencies will do you no harm.0 -

You also stateThey deliver to the UK within the parametres stated on their website.
I am interested to know exactly how much the certificate incl p&p would cost, as i can't seem to find it on their website.... unless you have to register? And if you do, is there a registration fee?
These potential costs are very well hidden!! Or maybe it's just me? (It is way past my bedtime!)
Many Thanks0 -
Certificates cost £7.50, shipping is free, no registration fee.0

So it's not actually free...was waiting for the catch. Well I suppose it is if you want to take the test but have nothing to show for it (i.e. the certificate!
)

So whilst you say is not true with regards to the fact it's an American website, it could add value up-front when applying for a job to hint you've got some competencies before they have to test you on them themselves. The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!
