Mortgage Overpayments by Credit Card

Has anyone made overpayments to their Nationwide fixed rate mortgage using a Capital One Cash Back Credit Card. Already used up ISA limits for the year and have some spare cash that I could overpay. Would be nice if could also get 4% cash back on the overpayments from my CC. I assume Capital One would not view this as a cash advance??

Thanks in advance

  • I would imagine that would be seen as a cash advance although I think the best people to ask would be the mortgage lender to see if they can charge to a credit card.

If they could it would be beneficial but it needs checking out before any rash decision to do it!
  • I have been paying my regular monthly mortgage payments (to the Abbey) using a Capital One Cash Back card, and happily getting my 4% cashback, and paying the card back each month. But they wouldn't accept a card for overpayments.

My 4% period has actually run out now though. About to remortgage otherwise I'd be on the lookout for the next cashback deal.
