If only there were a woman-only grabbit board to post this on :(

This is a non-sexist forum for serious moneysavers without any political overtones. Segregationist attitudes only promote isolation and cannot be encouraged here.

Why stop with gender? Why not racially segregated boards, doctrinally segregated boards or substance abusers only boards?

Keep MSE clean and integrated and lets all benefit from each others experience and advice.
:o Keep trying.........................what else is there to do? :o

That's kinda the point though...guys don't really benefit (at least in the same way) from postings about a woman-only event, do they?
  • Yes the guys do - they know to get their pens out to sponsor the "women-folk", and have lots of notice to get their wallets out to pay up the sponsorship money!
Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement
  • :j Thanks for posting this as i would have missed it. I just signed me and my 8 year old daughter up for it!!!

Good luck to everyone who goes for it!!!!

Please remember day to day life can be painful for many in more ways than one.
  • How many miles is this ? thanks for posting x
  • It is 5km - approx 3 miles.

I did the pre-registration thingy and thought that I would have had an email or something but not had anything as yet. :(

  • We didnt get an email either, I missed the OP but decided to check out the website last night and noticed that the online applications had opened.

Signed me and mum up tonight, we are 2 of the 121 that have already applied for the Southampton race for life.

Good luck to everyone taking part, I have probably eliminated most of my sponsors this year as I am also taking part in a charity trek in Peru in aid of The National Autistic Society, but will source some sponsors form somewhere

hopefully if Im fit enough to hike the mountains of Peru I should be fit enough to run the 5km (well thats the plan) I managed to run around half of it last year :)
finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!
  • This may pee quite a few people off but can I make a sggestion.

Why not raise money for the smaller cancer charities like Macmillan nurses etc rather than fill CRUK with even more money to sit in the bank, there are other charities out there that are small and really require more funding.
  • That's me, I have entered and bought a t-shirt. Hoping to raise even more this year than I did last year. Also hoping that Auntie will come along and cheer me on again if she doesn't feel that she can join me at the start line - I am Racing for Life for her.
