Just wondered if anyone knows whether you can freeze Fromage Frais. I use the 0% kind and it would be great to buy four weeks worth and keep in freezer.
Also do you know of any cream that can be frozen unwhipped. I would like to keep small amounts just to add to soup, so maybe frozen in ice cube trays. I was told UHT cream is ok to freeze, but what brand is this and do you know where I can get it?
sorry loads of questions!!!!

Can you freeze fromage frais? Can fromage frais be frozen?
Fruit and plain fromage frais can be frozen for up to one month. Before serving, fromage frais should be thawed overnight in the refrigerator. Fromage frais separates slightly on thawing and so needs to be stirred well.

That is what I thought. The lady who said you could freeze it reckoned she had got some when she lived in Germany and it froze perfectly. Looks like all these products don't like to be frozen.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

I make Fromage Frais into Coronation Chicken and Chicken Tikka for sandwiches and freeze the sauces (prior to adding the chicken). It does separate on defrosting, but just stir! :j
(BTW can anyone refresh me on the corrie chix receipe - I've lost it - is it just curry powder and fromage frais?)0
