ok this is pretty urgent as the flower wont last forever if i dont sort it soon.
my partners nan died recently and her daughter(hubbys aunt) asked me to press a flower from the arrangement she brought for the funeral. Its a white rose.i also have a few others that iv been asked to do.
Iv pressed flowers before and made things but this time i would like to make it really special for her.and keep it whole and 3d.
Iv spent hours trawling the web for ideas and things i need to do this and have found a few things that caught my eye one was this

and also the glass cases here

Not sure if this will really help but I went to a wedding in Scotland in September and was anxious to keep the flower I wore.........thistle and two white roses. All I did with mine was sit them in a small jug for a while with some water which eventually dried up. Family events took over and I sort of forgot about it until Christmas and surprise surprise it is still all intact. The colour has faded but apart from that its ok ...........now I just need a small box frame to put it in.
There is something you can get to preserve the colour of flowers I found in my book involving glycerine and water. Use two parts hot water and one part glycerine, stand the flowers in about 3 inches of water. Doesn't say how for I;m afraid.
I've pressed flowers in the past and they;'ve lost the colour apart from anything that was yellow or blue.
Sorry I can't help more. Good luck

Just wondered............if you pop your query on the Special Occassions board someone there might have an answer

I've preserved red roses by just hanging them upside down in the airing cupboard untill they dry out, I don't know if a white rose would stay white or go yellowish. I then found a nice shaped glass jar with a lid, stuck a tiny piece of oasis in the bottom and stuck the roses in that, put the lid on, job done. Perhaps you could find a deep frame and put the rose in that.

My white roses have turned a kind of cream colour...........they still look ok though.
I like the idea of putting them in a glass jar.........might end up doing that with mine if I can't find a box frame suitable.
