Apart from washing it everyday for the next week or two I can't think of anything (plenty of conditioner on the ends). Sorry.
But not with a shampoo that "protects colour" of course.
Other than paying to have it sorted out I think this is your only option, re-diy-dyeing will only make matters worse.:wave:0 -
It depends what colour your hair was to start with to know why it went black, I'm guessing it was quite light? Darker colours only 'sit' on the hair so can be stripped out quite easily... try Head and Shoulders or Vosene shampoo, not the sensitive one or anything. Or Pantene Clarifying shampoo. This strips the hair of all extra grease etc so if there is any extra colour sitting there it will strip it out..
Hope this helps - I've been there many a time!0 -
Don't quote me on this, but a friend who liked to experiment with her hair colour once told me that the best way to strip unwanted colour was to wash it in a dilute solution of water and persil washing powder!

Vosene helps, stinks to high heaven though."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

Duffer I did the exact same thing to my hair years ago. Instead of dark brown it looked black. I absolutely hated it so went to the hairdresser, who stripped my hair of the colour. I was shown a colour chart of which shade of brown I'd like. I went for a dark brown again (lol I thought that it possibly can't go wrong!) and guess what? Yes, you guessed it my hair went to black! I couldn't afford to have it stripped a second time and ended up with that colour til it grew out, lol!
If you go to the hairdressers and get it stripped don't be tempted by the darker browns. Go for a lighter brown instead!!0 -
Cant you buy a toner and tone it down yourself?0

superdrug do some brill kits for dyeing hair i use champagne truffle which is quite dark but its close to my natural colour with blonde streaks in
they do kits that are lighter obviously i think they are on offer 2 for £6 at the moment so its even more money saving
I hope this helps

Garnier do a highlight kit for dark brown hair. They are a sort of coppery colour I think. A few of those streaks put in would lighten it up a bit, an break up the block of colour.0

My daughter was told this one on her hairdressing course. Either that or Polytar, both smelly, but conditioner masks it a bit. Good luck. I once did mine supposedly auburn (about 2 shades lighter than natural) and it came out nearly orange. I dye my hair dark brown and it always looks close to black for the first couple of weeks to be honest. It might well fade into what it was meant to be...Debt at LBM July 2013: [STRIKE]£46,085.88[/STRIKE] Debt today: £36,501.67
