Hello, my first post, and I'd like to say a big thankyou to everyone who posts the tips and glitches. Since I started reading the posts, I've had some lovely stuff from .com, even hit the computer at just the right time, last Friday(?) morning. I'd got up to get some Paracetamol, and remembered that some posts had said the sale updated around 5.30. I was there when it happened! I got lovely little bits and pieces for me and choccies and liqueurs and stuff for pressies - nothing special, but it felt like such a treat! (Nothing has arrived yet, but no cancellations, so.... fingers crossed).
I don't like my local Boots, it's small, there's been nothing in the sale, and it's one of those places where, if you break your neck to get there before it closes, you arrive at 5 to 5, and it's shut! Also closes Sundays, my only free morning. Still, feeling all buoyed up by the intricate combos and glitches you lot have been posting, I thought I'd wangle half an hour off yesterday morning, and give it a whirl.
Bought men's razor Dad had asked for, £17.99. Paid with points. SA commented on what a lot of points I had, and said I must have spent a lot with Boots. I do wish they couldn't see your points total, and even more do I wish they wouldn't talk about it. I don't want everyone in the shop knowing.
I asked her if they had any Highlights powder. She said they didn't have any, then another SA told her they were kept in a drawer. She got them out, and asked which, of the two colours they had, I wanted. I said, as I'd got some vouchers for it with the magazines I got in my boots.com orders, I'd like one of each if I could use the vouchers with them, and what did I have to buy with them. She said any No7, so I picked a tan wipe (no sticker on it, just with a shelf label marked'clearance 50p). She said I couldn't have it with that! I couldn't have it with any reduced items. I asked how about Protect and Perfect? Yes, she said, that would be fine. So, as No7 is on 3 for 2, how much would 2 P&P and the Highlighter be? £32.50.
But I've got a voucher for the Highlighter! Yes, you get that free. So where's the benefit of the 3 for 2? Well, you're getting the Highlighter free. Okay, I'll leave them then.
I've got some 250 points when you buy No7 which run out tomorrow, can I use one of them with the reduced No 7? No it's on offer, you can't use a points voucher with items which are already on offer. So, I asked her which products I could have with my £5 voucher from an earlier purchase. She showed me the ranges available, and left me to choose. I'd wanted the Time Delay Eye Brightener, but I couldn't find a single product on the shelves at less than £7 apart from a Time Delay hand cream, so I took that, and was told it wasn't included.
I went back, looked really hard, and found a Time Delay Collagen Filler, I thought the shelf label said £4.99. I didn't really need it, but didn't want to waste the voucher. I decided to take it to another till, across the store, and try it with a No7 50p wipe, and my 250 points voucher. I just wanted something to get as far as a till, to see what the till thought of it!. The SA on that till said my voucher would not work as I already had one offer in my transaction, so I took the tan wipe back, and.... gave up! I took the Collagen thing to the till nearest the door. The SA put it through, accepted my voucher and Advantage Card, complimented me on my massive amount of points, told me to be careful not to lose my card, and asked me for £4.99. The stuff was £9.99! By then, I was so completely downtrodden and embarassed that I paid up and left. Phew! Never again! From now on I will only use that branch for spending my points. Thank Heavens for .com.0 -

welcome .com loverlee
you will get the hang of the stores with practice.. you just have to be brave and ask the SA's to "please try and see if the till will accept it" and when they do and it does... enjoy the green look on their faces!! PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol0 -

I have days out away from my patch - where the crabby SAs don't know me!!
Much easier to try glitches if they don't know you!!! Better luck next time!!0
