Tax code

Hi guys,

This is probably a really dumb*ss question so please don't snap at me.

While sorting through some paperwork at home today I noticed on my Employers Pension Statement that they still have me classified as married despite actually going through a divorce some 12 years ago.

Does this fact affect my tax status?
Have I been underpaying or overpaying by the fact that this status has not changed?

many thanks in advance for any advice

No. But it probably does impact where any widows / dependant payouts go to in the event of your demise? Have you sorted that (and/or as part of the divorce settlement)?
