Much as I hate to recommend PCWORLD or Curry's

I wanted a cheap little printer and was looking at the canon Pixma 1000.
I noticed on the PCWORLD site that they have a web-special-price of £31 as opposed to in store price of £39, so I clicked to purchase on line.
At Check-out it offered collection from a local store so no postage costs.
Went to local PCWORLD quoted the order number and got the print at the web-special price.
As much as I hate to say it, Thank you PCWORLD, and no, I dont want an extended warranty.

I am also told by those nice people at Cartridge world that the Canon range of Pixma Printers is the cheapest to run vis a vis replacement cartridges. Canon's own are reasonable, compatibles too, and re-inking too0
