I want to get one of those kilts and shirts at lidl on monday in some scottish stores,as this is not a hire place where they can take measurements and get you fitted right, how do i know what i get is right.
I looked up the net to see what i can find as in size guides and its a little confusing.
They state across belly button, just above by an inch and also one says waist size and with a thumb.
I am in jean size about a 34/36 waist, but this does not go by that waist size does it?I am probably more say a 35 inch waist,i have both jeans i wear 34 and 36,but i do have many jeans 36 that are too big,all depends on what jeans they are i suppose.
So do i just go by my waist size or is it different with kilts, what would lidl sizes go by proper kilt sizes or your waist size as in jeans you wear etc.
I would need a size not to small, and also not to big,and i have no idea what size to get,or if these will have buckles to adjust, whats the best size to get i did a measure around my belly button where it states, and i think i get around 38 inch this seem a lot more than what my waist size would be is this correct?I am not bother about lenght as that seems to be ok,my problem is these will probably sell out fast and i dont think if it was to return as wrong size, there would be any left in my size i want.
So wanting to know what would be my best size.
Also when it comes to the shirt,i dont think it will have neck size as in a kilt hire shop, but i did my chest and i am about a 44 inch chest what would that come under large or x-large,i do again have many large and xl shirts and again this can vary, some x-large shirts are fine and some just a tad too big and large shirts some ok and some could be done with a slight inch or two looseness.
Would be great anyone that knows about these sizes was to guide me a little

i am just going by the leaflet i have the jacobite shirts are open neck with a lace tie and are sizes s-xxl
the casual kilts are size 34-46 with a 24inch drop
the kilt hose are size 6-11
could you not measure yourself first and take a note then take a tape measure with you to the store and measure the kilt and shirt?0
