Yesterday I went from PC World where I brought a copy of The Haynes Build your own PC Book and it came up at the till @ at 50% Off. (This was PCW in Romford)
Looks like this is a national promotion as a friend also got a copy at the same price in Tottenham Hale. Great book and a excellent deal

It is probably totally out of date?
If you need to learn how to build a PC it would really be better to go to one of the technical sites like Anandtech or Toms Hardware etc.0 -

Its perfect for my needs and a great price. Its all very well looking at websites but I have always found it easier to have a good reference book to hand and this price you cant really complain!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 297 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts

Horses for courses - websites suit some people, but for a lot of people you can't beat a good bookIf you need to learn how to build a PC it would really be better to go to one of the technical sites like Anandtech or Toms Hardware etc.
When I saw the title of the thread I thought you could build your own PC for 50% of the normal price! Thanks to all who post constructively.

A book will get you a good understanding of the basic technology, like what all the bits on a motherboard do, so it'll be good as a reference. Websites will give you the lowdown on all the new developments and latest technology, so a combination of the 2 is ideal...No reliance should be placed on the above.0
