Help re Costco refunds

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if someone could help me in december I purchased some items, from Costco that I want to return, (changed my mind nothing wrong with it) I was just wondering if there was a time limit on returns to Costco??

Thanks for all your help in advance

Ginga

I am sorry if this post is in the wrong area.

    Hi Ginga

Costco are fantastic with giving refunds. They dont have a time limit and you dont even need a receipt as they can look up your purchases from your membership card. I have taken stuff back up to 5 years after purchase and they give a cash refund no questions asked.

I would go in the morning when they open as the queue for refunds can be quite long during the day.

Just for amusement - the Liverpool branch of Costco was known locally as the 'Swap Shop' because folk would buy a swimming pool from them in the Spring, take it back in Autumn and 'swap' it (for a refund) to buy their Christmas presents. I understand that this forced Costco to review their refunds policy!

Just remember that a shop doesn't have to refund anyone if a customer simply changed there minds. some shops will and some wont they are under no obligation to do so under the law for reasons stated above

their terms and conditions signs have changed recently to say 'it would help if items were returned in original packaging and with receipt within 28 days'.

but i have returned goods up to a year later with no bother. didn't have my receipt either. (they have computer records)
don't know yet if its a sign of things to come or if they have actually tightened up. no harm in trying though. december isn't that long ago.
