Rice Krispie Squares

We made an attempt at making these ourselves yesterday.
Just *melted* down some marshmallows and then mixed in some honey and the krispies.
Think I used to many marshmallows this time but they taste nice and are SO MUCH cheaper that 50-odd-p a bar in the shops

Hi,
100g (4oz) butter or hard margerine
100g (4oz) marshmallows
100g (4oz) toffees
200g (7oz) rice krispies
Put the top 3 ingredients into a saucepan and heat gently till all melted, then let it bubble for a minute or 2
Take off heat and let it stand for a couple of mins.
Put rice krispies into a large bowl and pour over toffee mix or if you have a large saucepan you can just add the rice krispies to that.
If you feel you need a few more krispies then add them, i often don't weigh them i just add enough so there all coated.
Put into a 12x9in suitable tin/container and pat down with the back of a spoon without pinching any while doing it!
Try to leave to cool and cut into pieces to you liking.Me and my sister usually cut small ones and then eat at least 2 coz there only small!
My tips for this is, i prefer butter,be careful what marg you might use because of the water content in a lot of them can cause soggyness
Keep in a tin, don't put in fridge or it goes soggy
Once you've made this you will never buy it again.
I usually make double,it keeps well if it lasts that long.
I use tesco/asda basic value toffees in a bag

I always use butter for this, as it's so much nicer.
You can make a good kids birthday cake from this mix. Get a cake tin, round, square or whatever. Line with parchment. Fill it with krispy mix.... you might need 3X the recipe or something. Make it nice and level. You can cover with icing, chocolate, rolling icing, decorate it or whatever. It's sooooo easy to cut with a sharp knife and not half as messy as sponge."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
