Advice Please, On Continuing Making Payments....

...to catalogue company.
I already have 5 creditors.........3 of which i make 'token' monthly payments (because i'm on Income support). The other 2 havnt accepted my situation or offers of small repayments............
BUT, The Buy Now Pay Later.... terms with the Catalogue have come to a head.... (I owe 3850 pounds), but need to make a payment of 118 pounds next month otherwise i default.
Obviously i cant pay that, as thats almost 2 weeks benefit!!
What should i do?
I was only paying a fiver a month....b4 this 10 month interest free period kicked in....
Should i pay the five pounds as usual?
I mean even if i pay 30 pounds (which wud still be hard for me) im going to default and never catch up with subsequent months payments!
Any opinions appreciated.
Thankyou

Hi
I was in a similar situation and ended up contacted cccs thay told me to offer all creditors a token payment....In my situation this amounted to £1.00 a month. They told me to pay this every month on time whether the creditors accepted it or not...apparantly this stands up better in court!!
Re. this catalogue do exactly the same. Get in touch with them tell them your situation and you intention to pay a small payment each month untill your circumstances improve.....BUT make sure you are paying all 5/6 of them the same amount each month.

Forot to say, when you contact them, ask them to freeze the account, so no more interest is being added.
If they (any of them) start being nasty! phone the cccs they will give you advice on how to handle them and also send you out a pack with template letters. You can just send these on to the companies then.

As you already have a bad credit rating then another default really isn't going to make much difference.
Continue paying the £5 a month regardless of whether or not they accept it AND DO NOT be drawn into taking one of there 'loans' where you pay a small payment each week but at an interest rate of 29.9%.0 -
Thankyou to everyone for your replys.0
