I agree ZTD. What would loans of £289.00 + £380.00 = £669.00 finally cost at that APR?

I suppose because my mum used Provident in the 60's and 70's when I was growing up, and they were nice, friendly and helpful to their customers from what I saw, I assumed they were the same now. How deluded I am!!!!

How about looking at the http://www.entitledto.co.uk/ site to see if there anything he could claim?
Im sure he can save loads on the grocery front. Back 12 years ago I was able to do food shopping for £15 for two weeks. That didnt include chocolate etc though! I think I had more spare money living on £36.80 a week than I do now!!!:jMay 2013 new beginnings:j0 -
His budget has too many things missing to really see whether his situation is getting worse, just holding on or slightly improving.
Its pretty important to try to include all his spending in the budget.
A spending diary is a great place to start.
His debts at about 6k (?) dont seems too bad but the APRs are awful. With two due to end in 9 months there is light at the end of the tunnel ... however that assumes his situation isn't actually getting worse.
Can the increase his income ... say a parttime job.. even if he only did this for six-nine months he could pay off some of the highest APR debts and free up some money for the rest.0 -
I can see light at the end of the tunnel IF he can NOT borrow any more. Another part-time job would be a fab idea, but first check entitledto he may well be able to get some help, worth looking anyway.Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0

Provident charging 177% APR !!!
This has astounded me as never knew before now that such a figure could be possible.
How can anyone ever be expected to pay back a loan with that amount of interest getting put on?!!!!......
a few weeks before christmas i got a letter from provident (have bever used them before so dunn where they got my details from) offering me a loan for christmas (i didnt want or need a loan) the apr?......a very generous 283.7% and i have a very good credit rating so if i wanted a loan i could get one at less than 5% of that apr!The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about - Oscar Wilde:beer:
