Ive been following MOT's story. I feel she has been unfairly treated.
GoodLuck MOT.
Hugs to you and the twins.

I feel really annoyed that I am so far away and unable to help in any way.
I just wish mot all the best and hopefully something will come along at the last moment.
I'm really lost for words.0 -
Would it be possible for you to post a "summery of events" psyckpup? I have been following MOT's thread on the DFW board , but for those that have not a quick list of facts might be useful. The thread is now so long and I think it might put people off going through it and then you risk loosing their help.
Has anyone thought about contacting Richard and Judi? They do personal interest stories and they are friends of Martins as he has been on their prog before and Judi is a MOT's so she might feel a connection? Ok so I'm no expert so if I get some of this wrong or in the wrong order please feel free to correct Sorry its long but not 78 pages worth LOL
Started with a nasty divorce from which MOT recieved a fairly small pay-out from her share of the property - used some of this money to get a flat (moving deposits etc) took part time job to be there for twins aged 11, a boy & a girl, who had suffered in divorce & DS was being bullied
2005 Buncefield disaster meant the had to move out of the flat. Given another flat (back to same flat not sure)-more costs, but owner decided he wanted it back so they had to move again.
Found a 3 bed cottage with lovely neighbours & MOT hoped this would be the last move. Please note she was already suffering depression at this point which may have started with the divorce or reasons for. BUT landlord advised her that the property was for sale..she would not have taken this property if she had know. The moving costs, deposit etc wiped out her savings & within 2 months the L/L increased the rent to £1000 from £900 as she was supposed to have access to garage -never got access nor any repairs done to property.
During this she was suffering bullying at work & had found out about dodgy practises (sure the 2 are related not sure about order) & reported same. Stess then became so bad she was signed off work....so applied for HB but was not awarded full amount as property too large -ie had a dining room & a lounge.....
While she was off sick her employers sacked her - this may be followed up at a later date when she is less overwhelmed - The depression at this time was now so bad & she also has other medical problems to endure that she was finding impossible to cope & mentioned same to her L/L - she was living day to day & mostly burying her head about the rent arrears she was starting to gain. SHe fell into the trap of having to use the HB to buy basics & her debts started to build.
Her landlord took her to court to be evicted - we know it was because of the sale but he denys this & used non-payment. He won the court case & 2 days before the baliffs were to call the council housed her in temp accomodation- a filthy bed flat for all 3 of them  - whist the process of deciding if she had made herself intentionally homeless began. Her Belongings have had to go into storage & this costs almost £300 a month & will cost around 1K to get her stuff back out.
This decision involved a 3 party having to decide from a 6 question form filled by her doctor, if the depression had affected her ability to cope. However the report stated it was inconclusive & recommended a pyschiatric report - this fact was not passed on to MOT till much later & was infact disregarded as it would appear that the decision was taken prioor to the council recievign the report. The decisionwas that she HAD made her self intenionally homeless!
This resulted in a second eviction notice (this is where I'm vague as I was tired by now - about 8-9 hrs into the thread- yes in 1 sitting)
With lots of help from the DFW board she managed to get a good solitior for the appeal & much help both emotionally & in research etc - must also mention Italian_Tony & her old neighbours who have been her rocks.
However the appeal (Thurs last the 17th) refused to take into consideration the Pyschiatric report stating it only showed how she is now not when she was struggling to pay bills (I dont think it does from what I've seem posted on the thread) & without this vital input as to why she got into problems the decision of the council was upheld ...... she manged to get a further stay of execution for a week so she has to be out on 28th Jan - a week Monday.
She has been really let down by all the people who should have helped - from the Doctors delaying letters & reports - Shelter who seem to be scared to be involved as they 'never win against this council' & mostly the housing people who definately NOT taken her medical situation into consideration.
Please remember this could be anyone of us - its just a tale of one thing after another that proved too much. I believe if we can get this into the public nationwide attention then someone out there will be able to help in someway even if its just suspending the deposit on a private rent - assiming she can find one she can afford & will take Housing Benefit!

How awful, poor MOT. Why do some people get all the help they need, and others have to fight every step of the way.
Hope something gets sorted soonYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0
