Refillable Whiteboard Pens

Options
Hello,

I am looking for refillable whiteboard pens because of the huge number of normal pens that are thrown away each day. I have been searching google and the only place I find them are cultpens.com and they are £1.50 for the pen and £5 for 30ml ink.

Does any one know where I could buy, online or in-store, a large quantity of refillable whiteboard pens cheaper than this, because, £5 for 30ml ink seems a bit expensive to me. We are trying to go green and it is really hard because of the lack of availabilty! I would really appreciate some help. Importing is not a problem.

Thanks.

I suppose it depends how much ink is in a pen - 30ml sounds to me as though it would provide lots of refills, because if you take into account the felty stuff that absorbs the ink and feeds the nib then I don't think that you could fit much ink in at a time.

Although I cannot bring the brand name to mind, I got some refullable pens for OH to use at work that were a German (?) brand (I got them from Natural Collection but they no longer do them) - if you don't mind importing then this could be an area to research.

Sorry not to be of much help.

Found the brand name of some eco marker pens - Rosinco.
    Website is www.rosinco.com

What a fantastic idea! I'm a teacher and would love to get my hands on some of these if I could persuade the school, so I'll watch this thread with interest.

Thanks for your replies. Rosinco look like they do good pens, but searching them on the internet, they are quite steeply priced.

I think cult pens might be the best for now, unless someone is able to find something better (and cheaper). First, I have to convince to buy and then once (not 'if' - i hope) we have bought them, people get used to them, and see how it goes from their.

If all is successful, I will post back. I think you are right about the 30ml being a fairly good volume.

Another one watching this thread, although I know exactly what will happen - it has today, and it did last week!

Today: we have an address stamp at work, one of those with a pad inside it. We also have a bottle of ink with which to 'refresh' it. And today it needed 'refreshing'. Could we find the bottle of ink? Nope. Nor could I find the WD40, which is another way of refreshing ink pads. And probably another way of refreshing pens - anyone want to try it?

Last week: the cartridges ran out on the printer. We had spares, so someone put them in and asked me to get more. I asked where the empties were, so I could get them refilled. Sorry, thrown away ...

So, I'll buy these refillable pens, and either someone will throw away the pen when it gets 'old', or we won't be able to find the ink ...

  • I think the way we are trying to do it is that you get issued with lets say 3 pens and if you lose one, too bad... (until the next order of inks comes in).

I'm wondering if this might be a worthwhile experiment - giving normal pens and saying they are refillable and coming back at the end of the week and seeing how many have in fact been thrown away!

I have a feeling this is going to be a slow process, getting these pens and all.

But do you not find pens 'walk' around the office? I can never keep a pen on my desk, whereas one of my colleagues seems to 'breed' them. We worked out what she does: you take her something to sign, hand her a pen, and she never gives it back again! :rotfl:
