<CENTER>Poetry.com Scam :sad: </CENTER> Poetry.com is a fraud publishing organization that features it's online writing contest.
It literally accepts 100% of applicants as 'Semi-finalists' in their 'international poetry competition' and sends a letter to the poor victims.
The letter is full of flattery saying that you are a wonderful poet and the 'sectional committee' or 'panel of judges' has decided your poetry is good enough to be published.
They ask a 'modest' payment of $50 plus extra if you want your page on a page of it's own.
Publishing only those who paid, 6000 poems per book at $50-$75 a poem with 60 books published a year is a lot of $$$$.

Totally agree with last post. I am a poet and know their strategy. They accept & praise your work, tell you it will be published in such a beautifully bound book, then ask you to pay for book that has your poem. This is such a scam. found out about these 3/4 years ago.

I have 3 silver medals and 2 bronze plus a 2 sew on badges.

Whoopsies, I entered before I saw this. It's okay though, My poem was about some woman sitting outside the bank with no teeth cause she drank to much apple jooooce.

I just spent 3/4 hour on this...creatively composing a poem that will blossom in history. I was so proud!

then i submitted it and forgot to save it :eek:

Then i read the above comments and did my pinoccio turning into a donkey impression!:o

Thanks for telling me though....i would have probably fell for that!:mad:
