50% Extra on Cash Trade-Ins @ Gamestation

Was going to trade a couple of games in at CEX this morning, only surprise, surprise they had no cash. Which was fortuate for me as Gamestation have 50% extra on cash trades for a limited time only.
It was the Southampton store i went in to, though bloke there said it was all stores, but they don't know when the offers ends.

I traded in Blue Dragon, and Lego Star Wars Trilogy for £30 cash - I only paid a tenner for each of these games new (Blue Dragon @ Comet & Star Wars @ Ebay), thus made £10 profit.
Now that's moneysaving.... buy it.....play it.....trade it.

This makes them the best value cash trade in retailer on the high street at the moment.

I know you could possiably get more for your games on ebay, but if you want some cash quick - Gamestation's the place to go.
Plus they don't run out of cash :)

Gosh thanks for that. I had no idea that this company existed. I use Cex and the online price guide is really good. Could you give me an idea of how much you would have got for your games if Cex did have cash? There is one quite close to me but I will have to pay a minimum of £2 to park , where as, I can park for free if I go to Cex.

Thanks for a really useful post

    Do they open sundays?

I've got a fair few games I'd take down there tomorrow if they are open, especially DS games since I got my R4 card ;)
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

It was Blue Dragon, Star Wars Saga, not trilogy as prev posted, and i would have got £27 cash from cex.
Though saying that the stars wars was not a uk version - which i was surprised Gamestation took it - they just got a barcode for the uk version and scanned that. Don't know if this is common practice??

    The one in Southampton does.
I'm surprised they don't give the opening times of the store on the website.
  • I am a bit confused:rolleyes: (happens often), does that mean that Gamestation are not offering more than the normal amount for games?

    Thank you

If you wanted to trade in a game for cash and they normally would give you £10 for it, with this promotion you would actually recieve £15.
Someone has said that this promotion ends today, though i don't know if this is true or not.

This offer looks to be for everything you can trade in... I have an original fully boxed PS2 pad, which I presume this offer would apply to aswell? Has anyone been successful trading in things other than games during this promotion? (Just want to know so I'm not lugging it around town all day :))
  • Any idea what I would be offered for following
    Drakes Fortune - PS3
    Zelda - Wii
    Spiderman 3
    Rampage total destruction.
    Jan Grocery challenge
    Budget £350 - Spent £64.45 to date
