You have definitely come to the right place for advice and support. The people on this website have been terrific helping me out with advice. My husband ran up a LOT of debt over the past several years (more than yours!) - and I had absolutely no idea as he was using the debt to pay off other debts so it was spiralling without us having anything to show for it! Anyway he confessed about Oct /Nov last year - because I think it would have been a matter of months before he would have got behind on the mortgage and lost the house. Anyway - to cut a long story short, the people on this website suggested we got in touch with CCCS to discuss our debt - and they do not charge a penny.

I thought we were going to lose everything, or have to go bankrupt of something - but it turns out we could start a Debt Management Plan - where we work out my husband's incomings and outgoings and whatever is left over he pays to the DMP - which the CCCS apportion across the creditors - and although it isn't plain sailing, and we have a way to go before the letters from the creditors die down - we feel we are in control of the situation and don't feel we have to live a life of complete misery for the next 10 years while it is being paid off. So do give them a call - they really do know their stuff and you might be surprised! Good luck and welcome to a great website :-))
