a little advice please

hi,
my husband has got a new job,hence his pay date is now different.i rang the mortgage company to move the date of the payment back a week.they said they dont do this they have 2 dates on which mortgages are paid,then said i had to contact our bank and they will change it.i tried the bank they said it is the mortgage company who should do it.so im now none the wiser.am i entitled to have my mortgage paid on a date that is better for us,or do i have to apply with their dates.
