Comet Clearance Auctions

After reading the other comet thread its got me thinking:rolleyes: on the clearance site it states that all goods come with 12 month warrenty but how does that stand if you buy a lg or bosch appliance that comes with 2 year warrenty? I have purchased a lg washing machine a few months ago and got no paperwork re warrenty and a bosch dishwasher will be delivered next friday, if it is only 12 months should i try and cancel or should i be ok?

What do you all think?

Thanks in advance;)

  • Warranties are normally supplied by the manufacturer, in addition to your statutory rights under the Sale of Goods Act. The paperwork would usually be with the manufacturer's manual ... nothing with the washing machine?

Try registering online, most manufacturers offer the chance to register online by putting in the serial number or whatever, might be worth a look if you didnt get the paperwork with the machine.

Thank you both ;) Ive been on the phone to the helpline who didnt know either and ive found some sites saying you get the manufacturers warrenty so im still confused, I did at the time have a look on the lg website for registration but couldnt find anything and the other thread mentions that comet buy the warrenty off the suppliers which makes me believe/think it will only come with 12 months as stated on the website. I have to call the clearance place in glasgow on monday for a definate answer.

I got nothing with the washing machine, i had to download the instruction manual online:confused: Question i have is it worth running with my purchase of a bosch dishwasher with only 1 year warranty instead of the 2 year i thought it came with?

So how long should an expensive kitchen appliance be expected to last?

    Just ONE YEAR?

    Definitely not!

Here's a link to an article, which explains you've still got Consumer Rights under The Sale of Goods Act after the Guarantee runs out. It also tells you what to do about things if you get a problem:-
