I'm sorry but I have to disagree with doing this. The supermarkets then can't redeem the coupons so you are a) defrauding them and b) making it harder for the rest of us to use genuine coupons.

IMO using out of date coupons is no better than using fake money.

Oh yes, and as a former checkout person, it's so obvious that your trying to pull a fast one, and therefore you're less likely to have your other coupons accepted!!
  • I don't want to use them myself as I still have almost £50 in coupons left so if anyone else can let me know

Most vouchers have a different expiry date for redemption from a store.
I have a £2 EVE magazine coupon that expires for the customer on the 5th July but is valid for redemption from the store till 2nd August.
I have to say I've not used an out of date coupon before though.

Stores that accept other retailers' coupons can't redeem them either. They just write them off as being worth it to get you to shop in their store instead of their competitors'.

A lot of the time, the cut-off-date on coupons is to help manufacturers assess the affectiveness of their marketing campaigns, and I suspect they probably do reimburse the odd out of date coupon sent in by stores, for the sake of good relations. In theory, they should have a budget set aside to cover every single coupon printed/sent out, though obviously in practice a lot of them never get used.
