Branstons Beans (small tin) were 20p in Sainsburys the other day on offer.

I prefer to get small tins, coz half the big tins end up wasted.

Bought 4 tins in Morrisons this afternoon - shame really as I went in for last weeks offers but baked beans are always useful and Heinz is lovely (normally buy own brand)
  • fuzzgun19, how can you be a serious money saver if you waste half a tin just because you bought a large one? Get a plastic tin lid and put the half empty tin in the fridge for later! (cling film will do just as well).
  • Not a good idea to leave the beans in an open tin. The tin or something in it reacts with the air and you end up eating it then. Better to use a plastic container.

If you put the remainder in an air-tight container they are absolutely fine for up to a week, or shove them in a bolognese sauce or something
  • Liquidised beans are also great for thickening soups, etc :)
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).
