  • What are silent calls?

Registration with SilentCall-gard is for 12 months; if you wish to stay on the list simply re-register at the end of the 12 months. You might want to set yourself a reminder for this so you don’t forget to reregister.

More info on BT Privacy at Home can be found here.

when you go throught the automated thing to do this, make sure you choose to refuse calls from bt as well (they'll contact you by e-mail or letter instead) otherwise they still give your number to other sales companies acting on their behalf and you still get calls, I was getting about 4 a week before i realised, since refusing i don't get any
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

you can register with telephone preference service (TPS) to stop calls

    http://www.mpsonline.org.uk/tps/

The Telephone Preference Service (TPS) is the central opt out register on which you can record your preference not to receive unsolicited sales and marketing telephone calls to your home or mobile* telephone numbers. It is a legal requirement that all organisations (including charities, voluntary organisations and political parties) do not make such calls to numbers registered on the TPS unless they have your consent to do so.

So if you register, and you still get calls...you can report them.
