Very cheap. I was in Office World shop today and it was reduced from £90 to £72 in store.

Yeahbut/nobut, just looked up the cost for toner cartridges and cheapest I can find it is £29.99 on Ebay (plus VAT, plus £6 delivery).

Is this one of those cheap printers that comes with a cut-down reservoir in the cartridges, so you only get about 20 prints out of it, and can't refill it?

I've had the 1520 for some months now. It's a great little printer. Yes, it does come with a cut-down toner cartridge but I still managed 800+ prints from it. I then used refill toner for £8.24 from here. You can unscrew the toner cartridge and refill it. Has worked flawlessly for me.
  • Agreed - great printer with a reasonably healthy toner cartridge. Bought from Viking Direct for ..... hmm i think £39.99 too with a free cheapo crappo espresso machino. I'm not sure if that offer still runs, worth searching their site (https://www.viking-direct.co.uk) - can't remember the code for the cheapo coffee but bound to be on this site somewhere.. In summary though! Great printer, V.Fast, v.cheap with toner refills. At this price you could resell the printer with NO toner and have enough to re-purchase!

I have one of these and do lots of printing......i have so far printed approx 3500 pages on the trial cart on toner saver mode....lasers are MUCH cheaper to run than inkjets for mono stuff...but very exp for colour.....quality is miles better too

Laser printers don't use ink, they use toner (which is a powder)
Thanks to all who post constructively.

Indeed. I stand corrected. How do you refill it without getting toner on the roller?

Be advised that the Samsung manufacturer's warranty on this printer means that if anything should go wrong with it, and they accept that it's a problem covered by the warranty, they will only replace it with a reconditioned model and as a matter of standard practise they will not you a new replacement. And they will tell you to retain your consumables (toner) before making the exchange, so you wont be getting any more toner cartridges out of them if your printer goes bad.
