Sorry everyone, I know this is probably the wrong board to post this question, please move it Board Guides
Does anyone know any way of getting free or cheap tickets to the National Theatre? I want to take a friend to see Much Ado About Nothing but tickets are £39.50 each, way outside my budget.

I don't know if this works at the National, but at other theatres I have gone to the box office at the theatre itself during the day and got refunded/cancelled tickets for shows later that same day.
I normally go to the city for the whole day so it is easy to do it this way, but does not gaurantee tickets. I got Phantom £39 tickets for £18 at Her Majestys Theatre last time I went.Lightbulb moment: August 2007. Debts totalling £15,634.

Hiya - what about the Leicester Square half price ticket booth (or 'tkts', as it seems to be called now - I haven't been to fancy London for ages
)
There's some info about it here.
Not exactly cheap, but definitely cheap-er.
Edit - scrap that, sorry, I've just looked at their 'what's on today' section, and for Much Ado About Nothing, it says 'Not sold at Tkts, book at theatre'.
Sorry!
