Throw Me A Lifeline Please!!!!

Evening Folks!

Im just really looking for a bit of advice,no matter how small I would appreciate some help.

I booked 2 Spice Girl tickets for the 26/01/08 from ticketmaster as soon as they went onsale. Biggest mistake I have made in 2008!!!
Months passed, and before I knew it it was 2 weeks before the event and my tickets weren't here. I needed them in good time as I had to forward them to another address, ticketmaster assured me there would be no problem as tickets are dispatched 1st class.

Anyway...After reading the T&Cs it states that 'If tickets aren't delivered 5 days prior to the even to make them aware of this' Which I did so many times you wouldn't believe!! Phone call after phone call email after email didn't get anywhere!! I basically got the word T&C's drummed into my head!

After a few phone calls 4 days prior to the event I was told by one of the advisors my tickets weren't even out for delivery even though it stated on their website all tickets had been dispatched!! Day before the event ,tickets still weren't here, and well I'm sure you've guessed it day of the event still no tickets!! They did eventually arrive the day after the event!

Do I have a leg to stand on? Or have I lost out on £175?!

Much Thanks to anyone who is willing to help me out ;)

    I did wonder!

Is the envelope date stamped? If so, what date is on it?

Did you ask them if you could collect them from the box office? x

  • The envelope only has a pre-paid stamp but no date unfortunately. But on the back there seems to be a very faint reference number of some sort.

They did advise me I could collect them from a box office but I would have to be present as I am the card holder. I told them I wasn't attending the event, they then basically said to me there and then I would lose my costs as the terms and conditions state that refunds will only be given If the event is cancelled or re-scheduled. x

I feared that would be your problem. The t & c's state that the tickets are non transferable (or something along those lines), and therefore the option of box office collection should be acceptable.

I do have sympathy, I have sold on tickets on ebay and I'm always nervous of them not turning up on time x

  • Yes, welcome to MSE.

Now, all you need to do is use the info' on this site to save you at least £175 (quite possible, IMHO).

is it worth taking it up with your creidt card company - if that is how you paid.......

if the tickets didnt arrive in time , then that is ticketmasters fault
