Internet issue..can't access the web...arghh

Afternoon,

Can someone help me please i'm trying to sort a friends laptop out as she has just got access to BB with Sky..well had it over a month and still cant log on.

I know a little about the internet...basics really.

I can get an ip address and ping sites like www.google and get a reply but there is someting not allowing me to get on the internet.

Error message is "www.sky.com" is not setup to establish a connection on port "world wide web service (HTTP) with this computer

The laptop is on vista and has norton on which i think is causing the issue.. but cant remove it to try and see if that resolves it.

Any ideas..been on it for about 6 hours now and Sky havent got a clue.. which i personally think is a setting on the laptop itself as I have brought the laptop home and cant even access my internet!

if only i could get rid of this norton as searching the error on google and its seems norton caused the issue...

turn the norton firewall off to see if it works

hi, just sorted it.. i triied turning the norton firewall off but didnt work but managed to find a tool off norton website to totally remove it all..worked a treat and can finally access the web off my router.. hopefully will work on my friends..
