I know of a few posters that have kept their contracts after declaring themselves BR...as long as your I&E states and you have cash free to cover it & your not owing anything to the phone company you should be okWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

Hi lovebug,
We kept our mobile contract through bankruptcy. It's paid monthly in arrears but I didn't class it as being a creditor because we were up to date with the payments.
As phil says, providing it doesn't cause problems with your I&E A/C there shouldn't be a problem.

Although a mobile isnt always a necessity, they arent usually a problem.
But..........................it depends on how sharp the OR assigned to your case is in some circumstances, for example:
If you have a standard contract, you pay in arrears so you are never "technically" in receipt of any form of credit.
But if your contract allows you to pay a fixed amount and for that amount you get X amount of airtime allowance, that is credit as you are obtaining an allowed amount to use in exchange for minutes/texts etc etc.
So you can be stuffed if its a flext (t-mobile) type account, but in all probability they wont ask.
Although i was asked when i went.In Consilio Sapienta0
